August 29th, 2020

Where did you grow up and what did you like about your home town?

Helen grew up in Marathon, Florida in the Keys. Helen loved life in the keys, as she enjoys the water, fishing, and spending time outside.

Do you have any brothers, sisters or children? If so, tell us about them.

Helen has two sisters that she remains close to. Her sisters have always helped her emotionally and financially as best they can.

Do you have any goals you would like to achieve in the short term, long term, or both?

Helen’s stated goal at this time is to end her homelessness. Having her own, private apartment is a dream come true. Helen intends to spend much of her first weeks inside catching up on much needed rest. She also needs time to process and heal from the recent losses in her life. Helen is “just tired and done being homeless.” It was a tremendous sacrifice to re-home her beloved dog in order to get this apartment. She needs time to “get her head around” her new situation in life and what she hopes to accomplish now that she doesn’t have to worry about a place to stay.

Given a choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest and why?

Helen would love to have her entire family as dinner guests, including both sisters and her deceased parents. Helen’s family has always been close, and the death of her parents within the last several years has been a tremendous loss. Helen would love the opportunity to have just one more evening with them as a whole family.

For what in life do you feel most grateful for?

Helen is currently most grateful that she is about to have her own apartment. It is all she has thought about and planned for during these last several weeks. She has goals of pursuing a small business creating business logos, as well as, expanding her tattoo business. Helen has also considered returning to school to further her education regarding a business career. She now has a place in which to safely work, as well as, safely store business supplies without worrying about damage or theft.
