Ability1st Program

Mental Health Outreach

About

The Ability1st Mental Health Outreach program provides short-term engagement and supportive services for indigent and homeless people in our community with mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.  Services are delivered through three different program components:  street outreach, housing placement and benefits access/restoration.

Purpose

The primary purpose of our outreach services is to connect individuals living with mental illness and/or substance abuse with needed mental health and substance abuse treatment, housing programs and other community resources. This includes direct assistance with completing the long process of successfully applying for Social Security income/disability benefits.
