What is it?
Ability1st Outreach Coordinators engage people living in places like camps, parks, and other public areas, connecting them to emergency shelter and other housing options. Upon assessment, we may provide or refer for immediate needs such as food, personal hygiene items, and other critical supplies.
Who is it for?
Individuals with disabilities experiencing homelessness, specifically in unsheltered locations in Leon and Gadsden counties.
How does it help?
The primary goal of our street outreach is to identify unsheltered individuals with disabilities, assess eligibility, and coordinate entry to available housing programs. Through engagement efforts, we build rapport with our consumers to better understand and assess their overall well-being, referring them to the appropriate services.
